A gentle guide to help your plant thrive in its new home.
01 – DRAINAGE IS A KEY
All PETRA Planters come with a drainage hole and a tray.
Never let water sit inside the pot – it is the quickest way to kill the roots.
02 – LIGHT AND AIR
Even indoor plants need light.
Place them in indirect natural light, preferable near a window.
Give them a weekend sunbath. They deserve it, so do you.
03 – SOIL AND REPOTTING
Use a well draining potting mix (add cocopeat + perlite/river sand if needed).
When roots start pushing out, it is time to repot – usually in 6-12 months.
Gently tap the planter while removing to avoid breakage.
04 – CLEANING THE PLANTER
Use a soft dry cloth – no harsh cleaners.
PETRA surfaces may have natural pores and texture, embrace them.
They age, like us, with grace.
05 – SEALING
All planters are sealed from inside to prevent water damage.
Yet, avoid leaving pooled water in the drip tray for long.
06 – IMPERFECTIONS
Each piece is handcrafted.
Minor air bubbles, surface variation, and pigment shifts are part of its soul – not flaws.

Care for your quiet companions –
Wipe with a soft dry or damp cloth only.
Avoid soaking or scrubbing. These are sealed but still prefer kindness.
If they catch stains, gently clean.
Best kept indoors, away from heavy moisture.
Let them hold warmth and stillness, not just cups.
UTILITY HOLDERS
Organise with intention –
use as pen stands, brush holders, desk companion or however you wish.
Clean with soft, dry cloth, no harsh abrasives.
Keep away from long hours of direct sunlight, to preserve pigment.
A small word on imperfections –
Natural pinholes, pigment shifts or surface variations are not defects – they are the signature of handcraft.
